About Katia Salmasi
Before I turned twenty, I was introduced to the world of art, and even after all these years, art still holds a magical allure for me. In an era when many people across the world are caught up in endless haste and concerns, art is a peaceful shelter that keeps me away from chaos and turmoil.
Amidst the tensions and relentless forces in the world, my attachment to art has only grown deeper and more meaningful with each passing day. Over these years, I have come to realize that I have entered an endless ocean and discovered that each branch of art contains a vast and independent world of its own. These branches, while maintaining their purity, can come together to create a new language and expression. One can go through this diverse land, presenting the world with a different perspective and interpretation.
My journey into this boundless world began with painting. Then, the magic of photography drew me in, and I studied it. Photography, for me, was and still is a vast, mysterious world, and it has been my profession ever since.
However, graphic design came to me by chance. A friend taught me the basics of page layout and print preparation, and through short-term courses and learning about the printing process, I began managing advertising orders from start to finish.
Alongside photography and graphic design, I also taught photography at various universities and private institutions.
A few years ago, I ventured into the world of ceramics. My interest in working with clay gradually grew. After taking courses with a distinguished master, I learned the fundamentals of the craft. These days, I spend most of my time with clay. The tranquility and solitude I find in this work is unparalleled.
